2019 Queensland School Sport State Team Officials

Queensland School Sport is once again calling for applications for our State Team Official's positions.  
All team officials will be appointed by a selection panel who will take a number of items such as, sport specific committee endorsement and feedback, endorsement by regional school sport officers, written applications as submitted, previous performance (if the applicant has previously held a QSS team officials position) when making their decision

The process for appointment from this point forward will be: 

  • Applications have now closed.

  • Thursday 23 August - QSSU staff will provide a list of all applicants to sport specific committee executives for endorsement and committee feedback

  • Thursday 13 September - sport specific committee feedback due to QSS Unit
  • Thursday 11 October - QSS Selection Panel meet
  • Thursday 18 October - sport specific committees are informed of appointments.
  • Thursday 25 October - all applicants are informed of appointments (after which a list of appointed QSS State Team Officials will be uploaded onto the QSS website)

  • Please refer to the SSA Draft Calendar for 2019 for dates and venues of championships.  For any event not listed please contact the QSS Officer responsible for the sport for which you are applying. 

Criteria for satisfactory performance as a QSS State Team Official:

Conditions of appointment 

  • Preference should be given to suitably qualified, practising, registered teachers. Non-teacher officials must provide evidence of holding a current Blue Card. 
  • At least one official appointed to each team must be a registered teacher.
  • At least one of the team officials must be of the same gender as the members of the team.
  • The Queensland coach should possess at least a current Level 1 Coaching Accreditation (or equivalent) - please note some sports may require a higher level of accreditation.
  • Sports Trainers must possess at least a current level one sports trainer qualification.
  • All team officials must also meet any additional sport specific criteria as listed in section 6.4 of the relevant sports competition procedures (found via the alphabetical list of sports on the left-hand side of the sports information tab found here).
  • All team officials must possess a current first aid / sports medicine and CPR qualification for the dates of the championship, training and travel days.
