Football 10-12 years

Queensland School Sport 12 years and under Football has a proud history dating back to 1976, when the initial steps were made to forming a schools state championship after a team was selected to represent Queensland from the Gino Paris Tournament. When the first School-boys State Carnival took place it had 7 competing teams – 4 from the city (Wynnum, Logan-Redlands, North Brisbane, Ipswich) & 3 from Regional Qld. (North Qld., Darling Downs, Wide Bay). In 1995, the inauguration of a girl’s competition occurred.  In 2006, the first combined championships took place where the 2 bodies joined to become one, setting the pathway for the current setup of the State Championships.

Queensland 12 years and under representative teams have competed with distinction over the past 33 years, wearing the famous Maroon strip with pride, with the boys being champions or co-champions 14 times since 1981, and the girls champions or co-champions 11 times since their inception in 1995.

The 12yrs and Under State Championship has provided a great nursery of talent with a number of competitors going onto further sporting achievements. The List of players with higher representation evidences this.

The representative program for Football offers opportunity for 12 years and under boys and girls to compete at State and National championship levels. Football is managed by a committee of dedicated teachers. They are guided by a suite of policies namely, Management, Competition and Financial Operating Procedures, for the management and operation of State championships and other associated events. The 12 years and under Football Committee acknowledges ongoing service to our sport by awarding Life Membership to dedicated members.
